Family Business
Food by Julie is a small family business based in the rural Thames Valley village of Tidmarsh, which has evolved over the last 26 years. We provide a high quality catering service in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire and Oxfordshire. We have also catered for events in London and the Isle of Wight.
Private & Corporate
The business is run by Julie, a passionate and conscientious professional cook dedicated to providing quality food in a creative and imaginative way for both private, business and corporate clients. As a qualified City and Guilds Professional Cook, Julie aspires to achieve perfection, paying particular attention to the detail that enhances the final presentation and taste of our food.
Personal Service
We offer a friendly and individual service for both private and corporate clients whatever the occasion. It is our aim to provide a high level of customer care by liaising closely with our clients from the moment an enquiry is received, through the planning stages leading up to and beyond the event itself.

Food by Julie will be happy to offer a food tasing session entirely free of charge to allow our clients to sample the food they have chosen.
Menus & Style of Food
We specialise in providing superb contemporary, traditional and classic dishes skillfully prepared and stylishly presented. We offer a range of standard menus and we are only too pleased to discuss and create a bespoke menu based on an individual clients specific requirements. All of our menus are inspired by seasonal and locally sourced produce of only the finest quality which is carefully selected by Julie herself.
Special Dietary Requirements
We will recommend suitable alternatives for those clients who require special consideration when planning a menu.
Business & Corporate
We cater for working lunches, business meetings, seminars and conferences as well as directors' dining when in the capacity of a chef, Julie will prepare and cook your chosen menu on site in your company kitchen. We appreciate that time restrictions often apply and we take this into consideration when planning your menu.
We also cater for 'breakfast meetings' and 'corporate barbecues/hog roasts' when larger numbers are to be catered for, hiring any essential equipment as required.
Private Entertaining
When catering for a dinner party, we will prepare and cook a meal in your home thus creating a restaurant environment for you and your guests to enjoy. We will be happy to discuss a menu with you which will suit the occasion. Please press the Dinner Party Menus thumbnail.
We also provide hot and cold fork buffets, finger buffets and we specialise in canapes suitable for a host of events.
Hog Roasts and Barbecues are a popular choice during the summer months when larger numbers are to be catered or a more informal feel is required.
Food Sources
All our dishes, handcrafted by us are specially prepared for each event carefully selecting only the freshest and finest quality ingredients including organic and free-range natural foods obtained from local farms, butchers and reputable suppliers. Meat, poultry and game are obtained locally and are of the highest quality and our fish which is sustainably sourced, is specially ordered to ensure that we obtain only the very freshest possible. We hope to achieve the ultimate in taste, colour and texture preferring to avoid foods with artificial additives such as colourings, flavourings and preservatives, and avoid foods that have been genetically modified.
Prices and Charges
Our prices are purely a reflection of the quality of the food we use, and because our food is handmade and naturally more labour intensive. However, we hope that our clients will choose not to compromise the quality of the food for the sake of the price! We will gladly provide a sample menu and estimated cost for your event based on information provided.
Equipment Hire
We will arrange for the provision of all the china, cutlery, glassware, tableware and linen plus any other specialist equipment necessary to service your event. We will also be happy to offer advice on marquee hire, entertainers, flowers and celebration cakes etc..
Drinks
Drinks may be provided on a sale or return basis or clients may prefer to supply their own when we will charge for the provision of glassware, bar equipment, ice and service.
Service Staff
You will receive an impeccable service delivered by our trained team of smartly uniformed staff. Our staff are friendly, polite and efficient, and will be on hand to assist you and your guests during the course of your event. An Event Supervisor or Front of House personnel is generally recommended for larger events, and it is their responsibility to co-ordinate the service staff team ensuring that your event runs smoothly.
Waiting staff are charged at £10 per hour per staff.
Chefs & Kitchen Assistants/Event Supervisor/Front of House: £15.00 - £20.00 per hour per staff.
